JOHN VAN VORIS SCHOLARSHIP

The John Van Voris scholarship honors the legacy of longtime Pride St. Louis volunteer John Van Voris, whose courage and commitment to the community inspired all who knew him. Created after his passing in 1997, the scholarship continues his legacy of service by supporting the next generation of LGBTQIA+ leaders and allies.

The scholarship provides $1,500 awards in financial assistance to LGBTQIA+ students, children of LGBTQIA+ parents, and allies in the St. Louis region who are pursuing higher education. Eligible institutions include post-secondary, graduate, master’s, trade, technical, vocational, community, military, and visual or performing arts colleges and universities.

“Pride St. Louis values education as a vital tool for growth, opportunity, and empowerment.
